{ ENTROPY }

Sometimes, ideas pop out here and there when I cram. Back in college, I had the penchant of memorizing formulae and equations on the dawn of a morning exam. And the results always turned out fine. Yes, I work better when under pressure. I hate to overplan and I'm not comfortable of being too prepared. A little entropy in life is good. I hate being too organized, I want a little chaos. If you ask me if I have a ten-year plan or even a five-year plan, I have none. I just like to live for the moment and seize the day as it comes.

Pardon me If I'm blabbing again. What I'm saying is it's less than two months to go and I'm only 40% done with my preparations. I can do this. Because I work best when under pressure.

I'm off to another brainstorming session with the boyfriend. I have so much to share in the coming days. :)

{ BUSY DAYS }

One of the things I got busy on doing while I was on blog offduty: photoshoots! This one particularly I served as a stand-in during settings adjustment, in other words EXTRA. haha
On other occasions, I was working my ass off chasing brides and sitting and lying on the grass just to get that good shot. So for that, no towering heels. Just the most basic and comfortable outfit and fuss-free face. Bordering haggard actually, especially after a long day under the blazing heat. haha But all of that are nothing compared to the feeling of fulfillment when you've reviewed the photos and they turned out just like what you have imagined them to be.

Can you feel the blazing summer heat in these photos? :)As far as I can remember Holy week is always the hottest time of the year.

This is what I wore during lunch with the boyfriend on Maundy Thursday. We had to go on a semi-road trip to find an open restaurant because the malls were closed and almost every establishment was on holiday too. The only upside is that the streets were barren as a desert. Hallelujah!

So my summer uniform consists mainly of this usual denim cut-offs, cotton shirt, a hat to ward off the heat from my face and the ever essential sunglasses to shield my too sensitive eyes from the blinding sun. And oh yes, plus an oversize bag with hardware big enough to complete the tough chic look.

{ LITTLE MISS BUSY BEE }

Juggled Saturday with a birthday party, meet-up, movie date, and some midnight ukay in downtown Cebu.

I attended my bestfriend's post-birthday treat first at Cebu White Sands. Then proceeded to do the meet-up at Ayala to pick-up the vintage stuff I ordered online. Initially watching a movie was not part of the plan but the boyfriend can't resist the Wrath of the Titans. I had to control myself not to doze off half of the movie. It was not that bad but I think I kind of had enough with these gods and titans thing I've seen lately (we previously watched The Immortals, too).  Was supposed to call it a night before Vanessa East texted for a midnight ukay spree with Aisa of Drowning Equilibriums who was in town for a styling stint. I didn't know the ukays at Carbon are open until the wee hours of the morning.
All in all it was an eventful Saturday spent with the most fun people in the world. It was draining but it was a day well spent. :)

Photos below are from Eda's birthday. As much as I want to document our ukay escapade, bringing a heavy DSLR was not a practical idea during that time. haha Plus the boyfriend's gonna kill me if he finds out I brought something so tempting for those notorious people Carbon is known for.

{ OFF DUTY G.I. JANE }

You may have noticed by now my erratic style of dressing. One day I'm all dressed up in a corporate attire and the other dressed down and edgy. My work entails dealing with various government agencies and because of that I have to conform with the normally "normal" way of dressing up. Hence, boots are a no-no. Only  pumps and normal-looking heels. Classic dresses and blazers are the way to go too.
But come weekends, I can be whatever I wanna be. I can dress up according to my mood. It's not that I don't like my choice of clothes during work days, but I just hate the rules that goes with it.
For this outfit, I was inspired by the model off-duty streetstyle look. I've always been partial to military pieces so I added this jacket to toughen up the basic short-shirt combo. And to veer away from the normal shoes, I opted for this leopard booties.
I'm sure the conservative people from work who sees me in this kind outfit would surely get shocked but what the heck, my world does not revolve around my work. I am entitled to be "me".

Who says you can't wear sparkly clothes during an ordinary day and on broad daylight?

Since I don't party much, i have to find ways to incorporate some of my party clothes (which i dutifully buy and reserve for some spur of the moments partying plans) into my ordinary day style.  My trick is I just added a hint of funk vibe via a splash of color to tone down this party piece. Then finish off with a hat which comes in handy during flat hair days then I'm good to go.

Sheer Discovery

Wore this to an engagement shoot at an air force camp.
It completely slipped off my mind that the shoot was held inside an air base, which implements a strict dress code policy. While the officer was busy orienting us on the do’s and don’ts while inside the facility, I had to cover my sheer back with my bag and walked fast towards the car before Mr. Officer realizes that I am wearing worse than a sleeveless shirt and arrest me right then and there. Hahaha

Comme On

Thrifting day is Comme des Garcons day. I noticed I have a penchant for wearing this very comfy t-shirt during my thrifting excursions. When thrifting, one should wear the comfiest of clothes and footwear to allow you to move freely between racks. Prior to that one must exercise those muscles to be able to survive hours of selecting from hangers-full of clothes. hahaha It is safe to say that thrifting makes a great exercise.

Flat Out

I'm more drawn to shoes with sky-high heels than flats. I don't know I just feel more comfortable in ankle-breaking shoes. But when I saw this mustard brogues in the thrift shop I did not have second thoughts in buying them. I must have been sold out to its mustard color. And because let's face it no matter how I like to wear heels everyday I can't always wear them during shoots. So i'm sticking to this comfy and stylish pair instead of the usual flat options like flip flops and open-toe sandals to protect my feet from dust and mud especially during outdoor shoots.

I am happy to share with you guys that I'm gonna have a happy summer after all. Never mind if it's happening towards the end of the dog days already. We are off to Bohol next week and probably Antulang during the last weekend of May (fingers crossed!) and finally we'll cap off summer in Siargao by mid-June! :) And I heard June is surfing season. Can't wait! :)
