{ C L I F F S I D E }

Some outtakes from our engagement shoot in the cliffs of the Antulang peninsula.

It is very important that your engagement photos be taken by someone you are comfortable with. Because this session entails a lot of things you don't normally do on a daily basis. I for one am not a showy person so it's hard for me to be all sweet and lovey dovey in front of a group of people. I am just really thankful and lucky that ours were taken by a member of our team, James Diayon, who is also a great friend by the way and who shares the same style and creativity as us.   So it was all fun fun fun! Notice my reaction. I didn't know I was bungisngis like that. hahaha

For couples who enlist the service of professional photographers for their wedding, engagement session is the best way to bond with your photographer and warm up to them. Believe me, during the first few shots the couple are usually stiff and shy and sweaty. But after a few clicks, laughs, and conversation, the couple is back to their natural and charming old selves. So come your wedding day, it will be as easy as pie and you'll be like best friends! Also, it is crucial that you choose a photographer that matches your style. All photographers i believe capture amazing and quality photos. But they surely vary in artistic approach and style. Some couple prefer photographers with fine art approach, others are awed with out-of-the-box style, and some prefer the teleserye-poster types.  So the secret is you must know your style first and start the search from there. :)

The last four photos were from the official set. Head on over to Marlon Capuyan Photography for more. :)

{ RUNAWAY WITH MY HEART }

Set of photos from our engagement shoot which haven't seen the light of social network day. I wanted the "grungy starcrossed lovers who ran away after a music concert" kind of concept for this. I don't know if we achieved it given that resources-wise we were a bit constrained since this was an out-of-town shoot. I was even left to my novice make-up skills for my look. I did not know how to do it so I just depended on my first ever owned false eyelashes to be able to say at least I tried. haha
I'd say engagement session is the best part of the marriage preparation. Coz during this day you kind of forget the rest of the stressful parts (especially budgeting haha) and just be there to have fun, be silly, and create memories you both will cherish for the rest of your lives.

{ THE TOURIST }

We've been to Bohol on various occasions either for a wedding or engagement session but the place holds a beauty so dear that I still can't stop myself from abusing the shutter button of my camera.

One of the perks of out of town shoots is you get to discover really awesome places and meet really wonderful people who stuff you with really delicious and gastronomic meals. Really. Andaming really. haha

Thank you Melai and Ruel for showing us around and for making our job a million times easier. You're both fun to work with and the camera just loves you. :)

The Outfit:

Wore something light and breezy because it was specially hot that day. This skirt was of the perfect length; it's comfortably long enough to cover the knickers when I have to get down for a shot.
Plus the print was a no-brainer, I just had to wear it.

Graphic skirt: thrifted , Gingham blouse: thrifted, Denim vest: thrifted, Boater hat: SM, Sunglasses: BTC, Camel sandals: Primadonna, Bag: Vintage

{ THE VANILLA ICE CREAM ENGAGEMENT }

When Gizelle of Vanilla Ice Cream booked us for their upcoming wedding, Moy and I got really excited because we know they are up for anything. And I know whatever theme they aim for, it's something quirky and out of the ordinary.

We are most of the time oozing with out of the box ideas for engagement sessions but of course an idea will always remain an idea unless a couple is willing to do it. The couple's personality is our topmost priority in conceptualizing engagement sessions. Because these photos are for keeps till they grow old, we want the shots to be a reflection of who they really are. You can't inject grunge rock theme to a book lover couple or shoot high fashion/magazine themed to a laid back beachbum couple. Sometimes, both are opposites so our solution to that problem is to do two separate shoots wherein each is reflective of the individual's personality.

But as for Gizelle and Harry, they knew exactly what they want so our work is as easy as pie. We've always wanted a grassy open field shoot with a couch and a mirror as props but we just haven't came across a couple who's willing to do it. So imagine our excitement when Gizelle had this idea for their engagement, we were over the moon. :) The only glitch was to find the perfect location with the most gorgeous available light.  After half a day of scouring the mountains, we found this gorgeous spot with a light that is oh so heavenly.

These are just behind the scenes shots. The boyfriend will be uploading the official photos very soon.

Hope you guys liked it. :)

P.S. The uber talented Phil Lapinid shot the Save the date Video so the whole session was like a blogger collaboration thing. Fun times. :)
