{LA BELLE AURORE}

I love to read. So much so that I read everything from shampoo labels to food nutrition facts when grocery shopping. Also all sorts of newspapers from English to the dialect tabloid ones. When i was maybe ten or eleven years old, I was addicted to this science book i found at my grandma's house. It tackled astronomy, physics, and meteorology. I read it from cover to cover that it helped me win the best in science award during a grade school competition.
During high school, I got addicted to Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High / University, Archie, and Love Stories. And it may come as a surprise but I loved Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo too. I was also fascinated with books about World History and Chemistry more than I loved PE and recess. haha Yes I was a dork before up until now. haha And i'm not ashamed of it.
Although I'm now too busy to read coz of my toxic schedule, my heart still flutters every time I see a gazillion of books. So you can just imagine how wide eyed and giddy I was when I set foot in La Belle Aurore and saw the floor to ceiling shelves full of books. I totally forgot  that I was there for an engagement shoot. My eyes automatically got busy scanning the shelves for titles so much so that the boyfriend had to call my attention several times to remind me that we were there for business. hahaha
The place is tiny but it exudes a homey and vintage feel. Small it may be but it carried a wide range of books. Some of the titles I stumbled upon were books that were made into a movie like Johnny Cash's autobiography, Seabiscuit, The Good German and a whole lot more. Bought one that intrigued me the most; the Time Traveler's Wife. Because La Belle is a second-hand bookstore, I scored the item for just a little over a hundred bucks. So imagine how many books I could have bought with a thousand peso.
They are opening a coffee shop soon adjacent to the book store  and I think I just might have found the perfect place to enjoy my quiet time in the coming days. I will definitely be back and this time I will have all the hours to scan the shelves from end to end, top to bottom.

Welcome to my new niche. :)

La Belle Aurore is located at Hernan Cortes St.,Banilad, Mandaue City.

Survived a health scare this week. I think stress was a big factor. It has been one hell of a busy week and my body sort of warned me to slow down and relax. But how can I relax when next week and the whole month of December and January is already planned out. But all these work are blessings from the heavens so I will just have to embrace everything and maybe listened to the doctor's advice to drink a lot of water and avoid salty food. Eeeek! The first one I can probably do but the second one? I don't know I think I'm not yet ready to give up on junk food. So help me God.

P.S. It may have looked like I was relaxing at the beautiful  Shangri-la but I was actually working on a shoot here. This even conflicted with the bloggers photoshoot for a newspaper feature in which i was supposedly part of :( But hey there's always next time.

It was 11.11.11 and my officemates and I wanna do something out of the ordinary. We are never the party animal kind and I think the last time we were out together for this kind of fun was like 2 years ago. HAHA Yes, it's just not our thing although we can really party if we want to although at least after the help of beer when we are tipsy enough to let out our groove.
It was past 3 am when we were sweating like hell already and the alcohol must have faded out on us coz we suddenly hated all the smoke and blinding light. So we headed out for pizza across the street then had coffee and pancakes at McDonald's till 5:00 am. I had sore throat later in the morning when I woke up but hey I had tons of fun last night that I really can't complain. :)

How about you guys, how did you spend your 11.11.11? :)

In the name of a good photo, I don't mind lying around in brown wilted grasses at the side of the road no less. I have a bad case of skin allergies but hey the grass was just a perfect background I wouldn't want to pass that up. HAHA

 I also want to share with you guys Blue and Chiqui's engagement photos. They are best described by my favorite four letter word {LOVE}. This has got to be one of the most prepared couple we've worked with so far when it comes to production set-up. :)I am definitely droolin' over those vintage cameras. :)
