{ NOSTALGIC GROUND }

Spent my Saturday last week shooting a client's engagement at our alma mater, the University of San Carlos - Technological Center a.k.a. TC a.k.a Bukid. Stepping into The Portal (that's how they call the entrance gate nowadays) brought back some good old bittersweet memories of my life at the university. Sweet because this was where I met my bestfriend/enemy/soulmate/fiance some ten years ago. Bitter because college life was anything but easy especially the last three years where all the major subjects thesis and plant design included  were tackled . Up until now I still cannot fathom why I studied Chemical Engineering. I wanted to be a lawyer during highschool and I originally applied for Political Science at the USC-Main but backed out because the main campus used to be toxic then and I wanted a relax and chill environment. haha
But I think the universe must have conspired to bring me to enroll at TC and paved the way for me to meet my partner. Gosh. Cheesy. haha

Some behind the scenes photos of the engagement shoot we had last year. I love it when clients love vintage themed shoots coz I can readily withdraw clothes from my closet. haha
The vintage MOD dress I wore here has found another home coz it got sold during Bloggers United 2 bazaar. I had separation anxiety when I packed some of my clothes for BU2. But oh well i know this dress is getting its fair share  of loving from the new owner. :)

Sharing also here some of the official engagement photos from this shoot. :)

The event we citizens of the South look forward to after the New Year is of course, Sinulog!
ALthough, the boyfriend and I initially did not plan to go out coz were feeling grinchy that day. We originally just wanted to spend some place quiet like a beach perhaps just to be different coz we know all the people will be flocking in the city streets. But he changed his mind at the last minute because this was his first time after six years of being a corporate slave to attend the festivity without having to worry about beating the 2am shift the following day.
So off we went, just us two, yes we are cheesy like that. Blame it on the poor cellphone signal, our text invites  to our friends for a night of partying were left unanswered. Anyways, it's always fun with the boyfriend around So I had a blast even if it was just us two. :)

On another note, i apologize if my blog was indisposed for a number of days. Photobucket had to block me for exceeding the allowable bandwidth. haha I guess it's time to switch to pro account, huh? :)

We planned this trip way back in 2009 but never really gotten around to fulfilling it until November of last year. Life took a complete 360 degrees when the boyf decided to go full time on wedding photography and since then our weekends are spent covering weddings, engagements, or editing.

Last November, we were lucky though to be blessed with four days free during the Halloween weekend because you know who gets married on All Souls Day, right? And ten years of happiness together and yes little bickering sometimes (or most of the time? haha) calls for a celebration, so I said go, let's do this, now na! The destination, Kookoo's Nest in Antulang, Negros Oriental.

If you want night to morning beach parties, flowing alcohol, blasting sounds, then Kookoo's Nest is not the place for you. Because the only sound you get to hear in this place are melodic lull of the waves, crickets and fireflies at night, and your own whispered conversation. Kookoo's nest gave me the peace and calm I look for in a beach vacation. It gave me 4 days worth of non-wedding business related conversation with the boyfriend. Although yes, we did discuss a wedding but it was not for someone else. :)

Since this was such a happy trip, I want to share an amateur video of this travel.
Excuse the hair flipping part though. The boyf instructed me to do this flipping thing and I am such a bad actress. Epic fail! Shet. It's funny though. It gave me a good laugh. haha
Enjoy!
