An itch that has finally been scratched

This is a two weeks late post. My computer is busted once again (nothing new there) so posting has been a lot difficult lately.
Even the word difficult is an understatement.

Back to the nitty gritty...okey as i was saying, September 14th marked the day I tasted saltwater once again (three whole months after summer ended) courtesy of the post-nuptial shoot of my bestfriend and her husband.
First off, we visited the historic church of Boljoon and its infamous bell tower which dates back to the 16th century Spanish era Philippines.
Their rellies came along to the shoot for support so it was rather a whole lot of fun.
But my most favorite part goes to the trash the dress session because, yeah, it was shot in one of my favorite places in the world; the beach.
I assisted my bestfriend with her gown because it weighed 2 kilos more when it was wet so I had to help her with it.
You know how I love the ocean so getting wet was no big deal.
I even brought a bathing suit, I'm such a girl scout. tehehe
The couple were such a trooper too they had no qualms in getting their wedding outfits dirty.
Some onlookers were even cheering and sending us catcalls when they saw the couple getting mushy on the beach. LOL
IMO, outdoor shoots are always more exciting and fun than studio projects. tehehe

Shit Hits The Fan

Have you ever tried the feeling when you are bursting with too much creativity in your mind and yet you can't do anything to put it into action?
Like you look for your usual support system for help but they aren't there for reasons you can't even fathom why?
Like you just wanna scream and curse that one person for not helping you in your intense need?

That is exactly what i'm feeling in this downright frustrating moment.

I don't wanna elaborate on the emotional rant. All I know is I have learned the moral of the story. That I can only rely on myself.
And that I need to get my OWN FUCKING CAMERA.

P.S. Since I am SLR-impaired these past few days, I have to salvage pics from my computer storage and post this old photo taken a summer ago (just to be able to present an outfit post).

I miss my bloggy. Sorry if I have been MIA the past few days. I was just working my ass off in the office during weekdays and squeezing in my alter ego (s) as "art director" / "photographer's assistant" / "stage girlfriend" during the weekends. LOL

First off we shot Cherrey aka Mai during the special holiday last weekend as part of the boyfriend's little business project called the "Model-Me" portfolio shoot. Coz yeah you're right. Portfolio shoots are no longer monopolized by young, perfect cheek-boned, anorexic-looking (sorry for the term but this is really true) super models we see in magazines. Us, plain janes, are equally worthy to be in one. Why not? LOL

But if there's one thing I learned about fashion/portfolio shoots is that projecting yourself in front of the camera is no easy feat. It could really drain the energy out of you. Super models aren't called super for nothing!

We were having a hard time pasting the faux lashes. LOL
Gawd! We really need to review those youtube make-up tutorials. haha

P.S. I kinda helped with the dresses. :) The black dress and blue gown (which is my bride's maid dress to my bff's wedding) are owned by yours truly. hehe Halter dress and accessories are model's own. :)

{was wearing a breezy yellow tank top, grey skirt that was often blown by the wind - hoped i didn't expose my undies (lol), black wayfarer, vintage bag, and gladiator sandals}

{Me in front of our old tree. It makes a good background.}

Just yesterday, the old mango tree in our front yard was chain sawed. I grew up seeing that tree everyday, it is in fact way older than me. We used to climb on the low-lying branches when we were little. My dad decided to cut it because it was dying and it had been a nuisance lately with the branches falling off without warning. And we are not talking about twigs here. We're talking about a massive 100-kilo branch landing near our door step. Luckily no one was hurt. I thought they were just going to eradicate the weakened branches near our rooftop and leave the trunk in its current state. But when I went home from work today, everything was just gone. The house just looks different. It's as if we've moved to a new place. :(

I'm gonna miss that tree. Seriously.
Please don't laugh.

Let's take it to the streets.

My computer bailed out on me again. Grrrr! I can't edit photos because it's now color blind it can't tell the difference between blue and green, violet and red. Such a bummer.
I have been putting up with its crappyness (if there's even a word) like 5 years now I badly need a new one.

On a lighter and happier note, we went to a street shoot today with a very energetic and fashion savvy girl named Kat-Kat. As usual we scoured the busy streets of Cebu and stopped traffic. hahaha
Can't wait to share the pics. The boy is editing them right now and I'll be posting them once they're done. :)

I am very loyal to Starbucks Mocha Frappucino.
I guess I'm very loyal to pretty much anything; from the trivial down to the serious stuff in life.

It only takes me minutes to finish strutting the supermarket aisle because I know exactly what brand of toiletries I wanted. I basically order the same food at restaurants or use the same cellular network. I have the same number over the years since cellphones came into power. I think Globe should be giving me loyalty rewards/rebates or something.haha!

I only have a few friends. I was not always the Miss Congeniality type. I have the same set of friends from grade school, high school, college, and work.
And most of all, I have the same boyfriend for the past 7 years, 9 months, 8 days.
And hopefully for the rest of my life.

Now he is one lucky dude. *wink wink* :)

Who wants to give me a loyalty award? I'm begging you I deserve it! LOL

A Whole New World

September is gonna be a busy month for me with the boyfriend so I think we're gonna forego the vacation for now. Tons of bookings and inquiries. Not that we're complaining. tehehe :)
Isn't that great to have your passion as your job? Not too many people are blessed to be doing the job that they actually love.
I hope someday we could get rid of our day job and focus on what we are really passionate about.

Sometimes I wonder why I actually studied Chemical Engineering in college. What I really want to do with my life right now is far from the plans I have ten years ago. I'm still amazed with Math and I'm still a geek at heart but I am more embracing the inner "artist" in me now.

Life is indeed a journey and everyday is a new discovery. :)
