During our last day in Hong Kong, after the business comes the much awaited pleasure.
It would be such a shame if I was in Hong Kong but not go to Disneyland, right? That would be so tragic. It would be like going to Paris without dropping by the Eiffel Tower or in New York but not seeing the Statue of Liberty. Or going to Hollywood without seeing Brad Pitt. That would be a tragedy of epic proportions! And living in the third world, where theme parks are rare and has less attractions, i guess when the opportunity comes, any person with a sane mind would grab that chance to go and see the fulfillment of one's childhood fantasies. That is to step foot in Disneyland and see Mickey Mouse and all the other fairy tale characters come to life. Call me trivial and shallow, but it is a big deal for me.
So despite the boss' advice on how far it is from where we were staying, I bravely took the experience of going there alone. Yeah, you heard me right. Alone.... in a foreign land during the height of the "crisis".

More stories and a  LOT more pictures about my adventure on my next post. Gotta run and do some errands! :)

I'm back from my short stint in Hong Kong.
I was anxious to go at first because of that unfortunate incident (if you know what i mean, i'm even upset to mention or write about it till now). I was too scared to set foot in their land  two days after what happened. You just don't know how many Hail Mary's i said while  on the plane praying to God that everything will be okey in there.
Surprisingly, the immigration officer stamped my passport after like just one minute without any further questions or delay. I was scared of any intimidation or discrimination I might encounter but thank God He didn't let any of that happen.
First day was spent scouring the streets of Hong Kong doing some official work matters. Can't discuss about that here for confidentiality reasons. LOL
And night time was spent rummaging through the night market of Mongkok. I'm not so good at haggling so I was only able to buy little stuff for pasalubong (travel gifts) for my officemates. Bought really nice bangles although the price wasn't that low as oppose to buying in Carbon (Cebu's version of Mongkok and Manila's Divisoria).

A touch of olive green

One of the rare occasions wherein I'm photographed at night. Coz it has always been work then dinner to either my house or the boyfriend's house during weekdays.Or the mall or day shoots on weekends for boyfriend's photography. I was never the night owl even during college coz a) my father is the ever conservative type wherein 6-7pm is the curfew hour , b) coz i'm paranoid about getting nabbed in  the streets coz crimes almost always happen at night.
I prefer the seclusion of the beach over night clubs, coffee over alcohol, chewing gum over cigarettes.
Yes, i'm boring like that.
I can survive just staying in the house all day. Provided i have DVDs of  fun-to-watch movies or my favorite TV shows, a lot of junk food, a Sudoku book, and of course the boyfriend.

This was part deux of the engagement shoot. We went up to Busay to shoot some grassy scene. It was particularly gloomy but thank God it didn't rain. We found some vintage jeep in the area so we utilized it as props. Of course the shoot wouldn't end without the customary shot or should I say "coerced" shot of me by the boyfriend. Jill and Lemuel (Lemuel  by the way is my close friend back in Chemical Engineering school), are one of the most prepared couple we've had. They brought along all the props that they could think of and Jill who also adores fashion brought a suitcase full of clothes. We veered away from the usual all white casual outfit worn by couples on most Filipino engagements and the traditional cheezy poses. I don't want the poses to be too contrived and "staged". Candids are more like it.

And oh, I'd like to introduce you to my new gold Monaco bangle courtesy of Lushae jewelry. Can I just say that the craftsmanship is totally genius. It may look simple from afar but when you look closely, it is knotted in such an intricate manner. For more of Lushae's beautiful designs, you can check it out HERE

The three great elemental sounds in nature are the sound of rain, the sound of wind in a primeval wood, and the sound of outer ocean on a beach.

I was more than happy to assist the boyfriend for the shoot we did for a couple last weekend. First location was in a 400-year old Saint Michael the Archangel church of Argao, south of Cebu. Then continued taking a couple of shots at Dalaguete then took a lunch break in the magnificent white sand beach of Tingko, Alcoy. Fun fun times! You know how much i get so giddy when I'm in the ocean, smelling the salty sea breeze, feeling the white sand on my toes, and of course being hypnotized by the lulling sound of the waves. Seeing the unobstructed view of the horizon reminds me that imagination and dreams are limitless.
**cue Bob Marley songs**

They say Disneyland is the happiest place on earth. But for a self-confessed hydrophilic like me, I'd say any white sand beach deserves to be called the "the happiest place on earth".
