{ DARK AND GLOOMY }

Last week I had to let go of one of the things that really matters to me, my Nikon DSLR camera. It was really heartbreaking I had to resist the urge to grab it from the buyer and call off the deal while he was thoroughly inspecting it. I decided to just wait in the car and let my boyfriend deal with the buyer while I struggled with my feelings and convinced myself that it had to be done. If only I had lots of money to upgrade to a new camera and keep the old one on the side, I would. But because we're saving up, a new camera would only be possible by letting go of the old one. :( I hope the new owner takes care of that baby and may they create wonderful memories through pictures together. I know material things are just fleeting. But it's the love and care that you put into a thing that makes it more special and hard to let go. I'm so sentimental.

And because I'm devoid of a camera now, these lovely photos were taken by the boyfriend to ease my sorrows away. These were shot during a hippie-themed engagement shoot for one of our clients. Even my clothes and the weather reflected my current state of emotion that day; dark and gloomy.

{ BUSY DAYS }

One of the things I got busy on doing while I was on blog offduty: photoshoots! This one particularly I served as a stand-in during settings adjustment, in other words EXTRA. haha
On other occasions, I was working my ass off chasing brides and sitting and lying on the grass just to get that good shot. So for that, no towering heels. Just the most basic and comfortable outfit and fuss-free face. Bordering haggard actually, especially after a long day under the blazing heat. haha But all of that are nothing compared to the feeling of fulfillment when you've reviewed the photos and they turned out just like what you have imagined them to be.

{ WHITE OUT }

If there's one thing in this world I would've wanted to be endowed with naturally it would have to be mile-long legs. It's always been my frustration to be tall. Thank God heels and shorts were invented  they give our legs the illusion of length.

But one has to be cautious also when wearing short shorts. If paired with the wrong top and accessories it might make one appear , yes maybe tall, but slutty (at least in the conservative Philippine landscape).
So for me I opted to wear my white shorts with a crisp white long sleeve buttondown to make up for the bare legs. And chose the classic black pumps (no lucite heels please) and a serious-looking bag (that's not an Hermes but how i wish it is!) . I kept the accessories minimal too except for the statement necklace to add a little contrast to the white shirt.

And oh, it does not hurt if you get photographed from the ground up.   That angle does wonders for me. :)

After a 3-week hiatus, I am back. Kind of semi-back only but whatever I miss blogging so much I am trying to find time for it. And what better way to show a comeback than to sport a new 'do! :)

 I got tired of my frizzy beach hair so I decided to try the straight hair look and went to the salon for a rebond session. I would have loved to get a perm again but the last time left me so distraught at the results (the perm lasted only a day!) so I overruled the idea. Anyways there's always the curling rod should I miss the wavy locks. :)

 I HAVE MISSED YOU, GUYS!!! :)

{ SOUTH SEA PEARL: A TIMELESS GEM }

Last Wednesday, I was invited to the exclusive and private viewing of Jewelmer Joaillerie pearl collection held at Tinder Box. I seldom attend events like this because of my somewhat busy schedule but this one is hard to pass up. I've always been enamored with the beauty of pearls because they are timeless and a true classic. I don't have real ones yet but it's something I would want to own when I can afford it.
Jewelmer has long been famous for producing these beautiful pearl jewelries. I know because I've always drooled over their elegant gems on the pages of my favorite fashion magazines.
Here are some of the beauties that really strike my fancy. If only I have not been saving up for something life-changing, I would have grabbed any of these babies (probably the cheapest among the bunch? because they're the only ones I can afford :)). But pearls are heirloom pieces so they're a great investment so why not, right?

I bumped into my classmate from high school, Andrew of I Luv Cebu, whom I have not seen in years, together with his equally cute siblings. The event was also attended by Vanessa East and Rabsin of Cebu Fashion Bloggers.

So on to the outfit... What I wore:

Layered a textured sequined top over my casual maxi dress to make it more formal. The cute blush bottom of the dress is what i was really after so I gave it an illusion as a skirt. :)

Accessorized with a satchel bag from Parisian, Gold bangle from Lushae Jewelry, Skull bracelet and necklace from 168, and a ring from SM.

{ S E R E N E }

Finally, I have decided a theme for the upcoming important event in my life. Looking at these pictures taken some months back by the boyfriend, I want this celebration to be exactly like this; calm, laidback, intimate, bohemian, whimsical. Now how i wish the planning is also as serene and relaxed as I was in the photos.
Oh well, wish me luck! :)

This distressed denim has been in my closet for like forever but i can't seem to give it up. I always get sold out with its perfect color and the snug fit on the hips that's why I'm not yet ready to put it to rest despite its current state of distress.  What once were tiny holes have now developed into wider ones and every time I sit down or pick up something I can hear it being ripped further apart. haha
Paired it with this classic black pumps which I got from Eden to balance out the ruggedness.
